Hello
wrestling fans and welcome back to another issue by myself, The Insider! The
only guy who gets you behind the scenes in the EWF. This is the only place
you'll find out what I know and what you need to know too! So lets take a look
at the happenings from the EWF arena on February15, 2003 and we'll uncover some
more dirt from behind the scenes! Man
was it cold out Saturday night! Whoooooo! Cold enough to make a cow squirt out a
milk shake instead of just milk. Anyhow, since I'm a big V.I.P. now, I got a
front row seat at the arena Saturday night and munched down on some cotton candy
prior to the show. Since I got the inside track on everything going on in the
EWF, I found out that we'd be seeing a great 8-man tournament to see who would
face NWA TNA Superstar, A.J. Styles on March 1st. I was pretty hyped about this,
since I'd have the chance to see my favorite wrestlers hopefully in more than
just 1 match. From
what I hear, all the wrestlers had to choose from numbers lotto style to
determine who would be in the tournament. Real Deal Christopher Steel, Pheonix,
Anarchy, Jack Hammer, Hank Calhoun, Hellraiser, Confederate Kid, & A.C.
Parker were the guys who drew out the lucky 8 and that decided the card for the
night. A few wrestlers were all too happy to voice their opinion as to what they
did not get into the tourney... Snake
- He seemed to be having some serious mental problems prior to the show and
ended up breaking a table and smashed the water cooler backstage. I was told
Snake sat out in a snowdrift out back most the night, but not before I caught up
with him for an interview. More on
that later on! Ryan
Paradise - Ryan was complaining all night about how he's the best in EWF and we
didn't even need a tournament to determine who should face A.J. Styles. Paradise
was all set to go but was not the recipient of a winning lotto number. Awww,
poor Ryan! hahaha Round One By
this time the tournament was ready to start and we seen who our first 2 stars
would be for match #1 of the night. Referee Jeff Landis, bearing the stripes
tonight would be the man in charge of the action once the bell rung. So out
comes Confederate Kid along with the redneck crew of Daisy Calhoun, and Hank
Calhoun. I think there was a total of 19 teeth missing from these 3 rednecks
tonight. Don’t they have dentists down south? His
opponent would be none other and Real Deal Christopher Steele! No sock hat
tonight kids; Steele was ready to lay a beating down on Confederate Kid. The
bell rung and the action was fast and furious to start out. Kid landed a few
nice moves and tried to breakdown Steele but to no success. Steele's power was
way too much for Kid, as he threw the little redneck runt around like a rag
doll. It was pretty funny to see Confederate Kid getting tossed around like
that. As
usual though, Hank and Daisy had to distract the ref and that allowed Kid to get
a cheap low blow and get the pin 1-2-3. Jeff Landis, what’s up with that???
Real Deal Christopher Steele was eliminated from the tournament and Confederate
Kid moves on to round 2. * Confederate Kid beat Real Deal "Rent-A-Cop"
A.C. Parker was the next star to make his way to the ring he said he did not
care who was in the bracket with him that he would whip who ever it was. I was
presently surprised to see one of my favorite wrestlers next, Jack Hammer coming
out to a nice pop from the crowd. This guy rules! A.C. got a few words in on the
mic and rattled his trap enough to annoy everyone in the house. Jack Hammer
looked ready to fight and immediately charged the ring, and met A.C.'s face with
a fury of the stiffest looking punches I have ever seen. Hammer totally
dominated the "Prison Princess" A.C. Parker and got the quick 1-2-3 in
about a whole 2 minutes. Go Jack Hammer! Smash that guy! A.C. isn't so big and
tough without a billy club, handcuffs or the aid of someone else huh?? Jack
Hammer moves on to round 2. Our
next match of the night saw one of my favorite flyers, Pheonix come out to the
ring and await his opponent. Then Hellraiser's music hit and the crowd went
crazy! But the cheers ended after a few minutes and Pheonix decided to sit down
in the corner and take a little nap while Hellraiser still hadn't come out.
Hellraiser was given 10 seconds to show up, but he never showed. What’s up
with that? I'll tell you later on fans! Pheonix gets the easy bye into round 2.
I wonder what happened to Hellraiser? Our
next match of the night saw the Redneck Rebels come out in force, as we'd see
big Hank Calhoun step into the ring to face his opponent. Even though I was in
the front row begging, Daisy Calhoun wouldn't sit in my lap. I even had popcorn
to offer! Maybe if I had some Spam or a can of Skoal she'd take a seat. Out
comes Anarchy, the Silence behind the Violence. The crowd loves this guy just as
much as i do! I think he's starting to get a fan club too as the 2 girls down
the row from me were drooling and hollering the whole time. They
locked up and Hank showed that eating that southern food mama cooked has its
benefits as he put Anarchy to the mat quickly. Hank's raw power is hard to
match, so Anarchy had to resort to his arsenal of stiff martial arts kicks and
his speed to stay alive in this match. Anarchy connected with a brutal savate
kick to the head of Hank and I think everyone was seeing stars after that one.
Anarchy went for the quick cover, and got the 1-2-3! Anarchy moves on to round
2, while Hank tried to clear his head and find his way back to the trailer park. * Anarchy beat Hank Calhoun We
then took an intermission and I had to fill myself with some more popcorn and a
refreshing beverage in the form of a can of Pepsi. That's diet food right? I
gotta stay looking sexy ya know! Anyhow, after getting my food and getting back
to my seat we were ready for Round 2. Round Two Round
2 started with a bang as Jack Hammer came out to a huge pop from the crowd, and
he still looked to be pretty fresh from his first round stomping on A.C. Parker.
His opponent would be a very familiar one though, his very own tag team partner,
Anarchy! This was bound to be good. Referee Jeff Landis was going to have his
hands full here and as soon as the bell rung, he let the boys go at it. It was
every man for himself for the chance to face A.J. Styles on March 1rst and
Hammer and Anarchy brought the A-Game in this one. Both men tried pretty much
every move they had, with Anarchy hitting his super stiff karate kicks, but in
the end it was Jack Hammer's power and ability to counter on a mistake and he
got the 1-2-3 on Anarchy. The first man going on to the finals would be Jack
Hammer! Our
next match of the tournament started shortly after and out came Confederate Kid
with Hank and Daisy Calhoun. How many times in 1 night must I have to hear that
redneck music?? If it wasn't for the eye candy and my 2 fingers stuck in my ears
I’d die! But then out comes the “flying phenom”, Pheonix! This was going
to be a good one since both of these guys take to the air a lot. The match
started quickly, and the moves came like a tornado. Pheonix hit some of his
traditional aerial moves including my favorite the tri-fecta but Kid got the
edge up and was able to bounce back and put Pheonix on the mat and connect with
some nice kicks. Kid went to the top rope, but Pheonix got his head on straight
and made sure that Confederate Kid hit nothing but the mat when he landed. That
hard hit to the mat was enough, and Pheonix rolled him up and got the 1-2-3 pin
fall. Pheonix made a quit exit and left Confederate Kid lying out on the mat. Hank
and Daisy looked concerned and entered the ring to see if Kid was ok. Daisy, the
cousin of both Hank and Confederate Kid, decided that Kid needed mouth to mouth!
Oh my gosh that is sick! Truly kissing cousins!! That’s the only family tree I
know of that has no branches! That was enough for me and I had to run to the
concession stand and get another drink. Wheeeeew! Tournament Final So
Pheonix moves on to the Finals to face Jack Hammer, the music hit and out comes
Jack Hammer! He looked to be pumped for this one. His opponent, Pheonix, then
came out to a pretty good ovation and we got our match started. Jack tried to
use his aresenal of power, but the speed of Pheonix was keeping him one step
behind in the match. Pheonix hit a Shooting Star Press, which took Jack Hammer
down, and Pheonix kept breaking the big man down. I was totally impressed by
several of the moves Pheonix hit tonight I honestly have never seen anyone do
the things he was doing...I am beginning to be a real fan of the flying pheonom...during
the match, out comes Anarchy! What is he doing here? Is he going after Jack
Hammer for beating him in the last round? Or is he after his former best friend
and former tag team partner, Pheonix? Anarchy jumped up into the ring and both
Jack Hammer and Pheonix looked stunned. Jack Hammer pushed Pheonix, as Anarchy
went for a roundhouse kick, Pheonix ducked the kick, Jack Hammer's head met the
foot of Anarchy and he was out cold! * Phoenix beat Jack Hammer | |
